It is generally accepted that festive dishes require painstaking and complicated preparation, which in general can not be compared with everyday cooking. If this procedure does not frighten many, it is puzzling. In fact, there are dishes that do not require special skills or gourmet products, in order to cook them, it will take less than an hour, and they are suitable for a family daily lunch and dinner party. If you are in doubt that this is possible, try making baked chicken breast with mushrooms.
Selection and preparation of ingredients
When buying ingredients for making chicken breast baked with mushrooms, pay attention to two main components: poultry fillet and champignons. The breast should be fresh, free from odors, when pressed with a finger, the dent will soon disappear. The color of the meat is natural, pale pink.
When choosing champignons, look for those that meet the following criteria:
- the hat is light beige or with a grayish tint, without the slightest hint of traces of mucus, it should not be dry, not moist, rather, slightly moistened, pleasant to the touch;
- size - average;
- freshly cut legs without signs of dryness or lethargy.

- Cut the breast into layers as chops, slightly beat off through the culinary film. Sprinkle each piece well. Leave the meat to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Grate cheese on a coarse grater, cut the tomato into two halves, and then rather thin (3 mm) semicircles.
- Sort the mushrooms, cut into medium sized slices. Chop the onion in the most common way, like a salad.
- Cover the baking sheet with foil and grease it with oil. Put chicken breast on the foil. If necessary, salt it on both sides.
- Put sliced mushrooms on each piece of meat. Arrange on a champignon with one layer of a half-circle of tomato. Sprinkle each piece of cheese with cheese, spread half the onion on top.
- Put the baking sheet in the oven preheated to + 200 ° С, after 10 minutes lower the temperature to + 180 ° С. The total baking time is half an hour.
- After the specified time, take out the finished dish, arrange on plates and sprinkle each piece with the remaining onion. Bon Appetit!

- Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry with paper towels. Cut the fillet in half so that you get two flat parts. You should get 8 pieces.
- Spread the pastry paper on a baking sheet. Lightly beat the meat through the film, salt on both sides and sprinkle with spices. Put the meat on a baking sheet, let it marinate.
- Heat the pan, pour oil into it. Peel and chop the onion rather finely, then put it in the pan.
- Meanwhile, cut the mushrooms into small slices. When the onion begins to brown a little, add mushrooms to it. When almost all the moisture has gone, add mayonnaise with sour cream.
- Cheese grate on a coarse grater, add half to the pan. Stir, simmer until the cheese melts, about 1–1.5 minutes. Add pepper and salt, after which you can turn off the heat.
- Put the finished sauce on portioned meat slices. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top of each slice.
- Put the baking sheet in the oven preheated to + 180 ° С, bake for 15–20 minutes, glancing from time to time. After turning off the oven, let the chicken stand for about 5 minutes.
- When serving, decorate with greens, and as a side dish, anything will do: rice, mashed potatoes or fried potatoes, pasta, as well as any porridge.
