Strawberry harvesting should begin early in the morning. The sooner the berries are picked, the more light they will be, since in the early morning the fruits are colder than during the daytime.

In order for strawberries to retain their presentation for longer, for transportation and bookmarking for storage, you need to pick berries that are 2/3 reddened. Strawberries collected in the ripeness phase cannot be stored for a long time and quickly begin to deteriorate.

One of the most important conditions for the successful storage of strawberries is their healthy appearance. It is necessary to collect only fresh, firm to the touch berries without damage and pollution. They must be torn along with the stalk. It is advisable that there is no moisture on the surface of the collected berries.It is advisable to cover the collected strawberries with a reflective film or store in the shade so that it is not exposed to the sun. It was previously reported that in Ukraine there were six new varieties of garden strawberries of Italian selection CIV (Consorzio Italiano Vivaisti - Consortium of Italian nurseries). New varieties have high taste, have a high yield and good resistance to transportation. Varieties of Italian strawberries have already been included in the Register of plant varieties that are suitable for distribution in Ukraine.
