Very soon, high-quality sweet cherries grown by Syrian agricultural producers in the sunny expanses of the Middle East will enter the Russian market.
The first delivery of sixty tons will arrive in the Russian Federation in about twenty days, said Khaled Abdulmahmud, who is the headman of the Syrian village of Sergaya, a fertile berry region.
Cherries from Sergia and other areas will arrive in the Russian capital by plane.
Producers admit that they would be happy to send their berries to European countries. However, Europeans are in no hurry to order the supply of goods from Syria.
According to Khaled Abdulmahmud, this year the producers of cherries in his country are focused on a crop of at least three thousand tons.

The figure is quite real, since now local agrarians have the opportunity to harvest in berry groves located on the border of Syria and Lebanon.
It is noteworthy that earlier the picking of berries in this area was not possible due to the hostilities, however, Russia supported the Syrian army and, thus, enabled the peasants to increase the volume of this year's generous harvest.
