In the Kharkov region, traders reduced the volume of purchases of rapeseed for a new crop. Local farmers are concerned about this situation and do not yet know what to expect from the rapeseed market.

This was told by the deputy director of the farm “Luch” and the son of the founder of this farm Anatoly Nebozhenko. Now, for some reason, rape has become uninteresting for traders and we do not understand the reason for this situation, ”said the farmer.

According to Anatoly Nebozhenko, during the past seasons, farmers sold rapeseed to one of the agricultural holdings, but now he has refused to purchase this product.

Last year, rape was the third most profitable after sugar beets and sunflowers on the farm. Moreover, this season the rapeseed crop on the farm was not a record - they collected only 1.7 tons / ha.

Previously, thanks to the correction of the feed system and the use of fertilizers, Yara managed to grow about 3 or more tons / ha. winter rape.

Anatoly Nebozhenko connects the decrease in yield in 2019 with the fact that the farm received late seedlings due to the lack of rain in the autumn and the plants could not reach their potential during the growing season.
