The process of sowing wheat, which is in time for the season 2019-2020 in Argentina, has been successfully completed.
Such information was shared with the public by representatives of the expert group of the Argentine Grain Exchange, which is based in Buenos Aires.
It is reported that the complete end of the sowing campaign was recorded on August 7, 2019. According to the results of the sowing process, analysts came to the conclusion that this season the total area of the territories occupied by the cultivation of grain crops is equal to six million six hundred thousand hectares.
It is important to note that this indicator is six and a half percent higher than the total area of fields on which cereals were grown the previous season. It is not superfluous to add that the actual indicators of the area sown with cereals are record-breaking with a plus sign over the past twenty years in the vastness of Argentina.
According to analysts, more than half of all wheat crops in the country today are rated as “good” and “excellent” by their condition. The exact figure is fifty-four percent. A year earlier, the share of good and excellent crops did not exceed forty-six and a half percent.
It is also important to emphasize that today Argentine farmers are focused on harvesting sorghum, having worked to date over eighty two and a half percent of the sown area.
