Based on information shared with a wide audience by representatives of the Main Regional Veterinary Administration, from the first days of this year to the present, pets in the Saratov Region have avoided infection with such dangerous diseases as bird flu and African swine fever.

However, despite the fact that the African swine fever bypassed the region, the Saratov herders did not manage to protect their wards from the attack of brucellosis.

Since the beginning of 2019, representatives of the antiepizootic services managed to fix and localize at least five foci of animal damage with brucellosis. Only three outbreaks were eliminated. And to this day, nine farms are immediately under control.

Not without infection of the livestock with such a dangerous virus as leptospirosis - in the first half of 2019, three outbreaks were immediately recorded in the territory of the Saratov region. As for leukemia, they were affected by specimens of cattle in the territory of one of the regional farms.

On an optimistic note, the fight against animal tuberculosis has ended in the region - today the Saratov region, thanks to preventive and elimination measures, has been spared from this dangerous infection.

It is also important to add that from January to June of the current year, at least two dozen points were recorded in the region in which cases of rabies infection were recorded. However, the quarantine regime for this disease was introduced only in nine farming centers in the Saratov region.
