According to the laboratory at the Federal Research Center for Nutrition, Biotechnology and Food Safety, a quarter of all children in Russia in the age range of 5-15 years are overweight.
The cause of obesity among children in most cases is an improper diet.
Parents do not control the diet of their children, as a result, young Russians actively rely on junk food, which is dominated by sugar, fats and salt. Farm products, environmentally friendly vegetables and fruits, organic meat, fish, as well as products rich in healthy trace elements and vitamins are a real rarity on the table in 20% of Russian children.
Employees of the Nutrition Center strongly recommend that parents include dairy products, vegetables, cereals, fruits, meat and fish in their children's diets and, if possible, refuse foods rich in trans fats, sugar, salt, etc.
