On the apricot market in Ukraine, competition between domestic and foreign producers and importers is intensifying.
To date, the main increase in the supply of these fruits is mainly due to harvesting in the farms of the southern region and Transcarpathia. At the same time, Ukraine does not suspend fruit imports from Spain, Greece, Turkey and Uzbekistan, Info-Shuvar analysts report.
Apricots grown in Ukraine at the malls of the largest wholesale market of Western Ukraine ORUPS “Shuvar” in Lviv are sold at 25-35 UAH / kg, depending on quality.
The start of sales of apricots from Ukraine took place only a week earlier, and their cost during this time has already managed to decrease by one and a half times. According to Info-Shuvar experts, in 2018 these locally grown fruits cost a quarter more.
Apricots from Uzbekistan in the above market are sold at 50-55 UAH / kg, while fruits from European gardeners are offered at a price of 45-50 UAH / kg.
