In the near future, the implementation of a joint Russian-Chinese project to grow crops such as soy and corn, with the right of subsequent export, may begin in the territory of the Saratov region.
According to Valery Radaev, who heads the administration of the Saratov region, the agrarians of the region are facing an ambitious task today to increase the production of both soy and corn.
The regional authorities plan to increase annual productivity to ten million tons of soybeans and up to one million tons of corn.
Radaev shared this information during the International Economic Forum, which was held in St. Petersburg last week.
It should be emphasized that China actively supports the aspirations of the Saratov farmers and intends to invest heavily in expanding the fields of soy and corn, which, thanks to the sunny and favorable Saratov climate, grow with an increased protein content and in an impressive volume.
It will not be superfluous to note that today the production capacity of the Saratov farmers allows them to produce up to thirty thousand tons of soy and more than three hundred thousand tons of corn.
