Not in the Primorsky Territory in the very near future agricultural areas for sowing potatoes of different varieties can be increased.

It is expected that the influx of new land will help the region increase the production of this crop by at least two percent. And then it will be possible to supply seaside potatoes to the markets of other regions of the Far East.

Such information was shared with the public by employees of the regional department of agriculture and food. Also, representatives of the department added that in 2019, farmers of the Primorsky Territory managed to plant more than three thousand hectares of potato beds.

As a result of the harvesting campaign, farmers and vegetable growers in the region are targeting a generous potato crop of at least two hundred and forty thousand tons. It is noteworthy that this is two percent more than a year earlier.

It is these two percent that will make it possible not only to reach full self-sufficiency for potatoes in Primorye, but also to sell potatoes to neighboring objects of the Russian Federation.

It will not be superfluous to note that today in the territory of Primorsky Krai the process of implementing the state program “International Cooperation and Export” is actively developing. Solving problems within the framework of this project will allow agrarians of the region to increase the pace of production and sales of agricultural products to the markets of other regions and states.
