Employees of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation shared information that there are four times as many strawberries grown in the Republic of Belarus on the Russian market.

If we compare the data on purchases of strawberries today with the figures for February of this year. You can track the positive dynamics of Belarusian exports - at the moment, supply volumes have exceeded 1.1 thousand tons.

This allowed Belarusian suppliers to take first place in export to the Russian Federation market. Note that in the first weeks of 2019, Belarusian suppliers sent at least 21 thousand tons of garden strawberries to the Russian market.

It is noteworthy that Russian buyers of strawberries in fact are the only buyers of this berry from Belarusians. In many respects, this state of affairs was facilitated by the introduction by the Russian Federation of sanctions on goods from Europe, including berries.

Taking advantage of the fact that since the summer of 2014 vegetables and fruits from European fields have been banned on the Russian market, Belarus has increased the production and supply of berries and other garden, fruit and vegetable crops in the Russian Federation.

Earlier, off-season Russian consumers were provided with fruits, berries and vegetables by suppliers from Poland, Greece, Spain and other EU countries.
