The agro-industrial holding Mironovsky Hleboproduct, which is the largest Ukrainian producer and exporter of chicken, notes in the annual report that the company increased social spending and contributed to sustainable development.
It is about improving working conditions, raising animal welfare standards and energy efficiency.
In 2018, MHP allocated UAH 200 million for these purposes. Financing was aimed at:
- improving safety and working conditions, which led to a decrease in the incidence among workers;
- improving animal welfare in accordance with EU standards;
- an increase of 8% in the capacity of renewable energy sources and the beginning of the construction of a new biogas complex.
“MHP continues to invest in modern technology. Our 2018 report highlights ambitious goals for environmental sustainability, animal welfare, food security and human development, ”says John Rich, chairman of the board of directors of MHP.
According to him, the agricultural holding is interested in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, obtaining international certificates for the production of animal feed and introducing new digital innovations for the further development of employees.
