The first sprouts of sugar beets in the sown areas of A'Spik Group in the Khmelnitsky region were partially affected by the May rains.
At the same time, there is no need for reseeding the culture, the company said. Partial leaching and silting of the first beet sprouts is observed in approximately 20% of the current sown area of the company.
According to the director of the agricultural division of A'Spik Group Anatoly Salashinsky, the remaining seedlings of sugar beets are in good condition and are not affected by diseases and pests.Agrochemical work has already begun on the fields of the company to protect crop seedlings. In particular, sugar beet crops are currently treated with herbicides to prevent weed growth.
