Four East England students from Easton & Otley College are preparing to represent their country at international agricultural competitions in Poland.
Michaela May-Glover from Downham Market, Isaac Lark from Lowoft, Jack Hensby from Lakenhit and Karl Tak from Cambridgeshire will take part in the Agrolempics event, which will be held in Poland from June 1 to 3.
Team GB will take part in 20 competitions - from milking cows to driving tractors, competing with teams from 30 other countries.
The 17-year-old Miss May Glover, who works at Elveden Farms near Thetford, said: “I decided to participate because it is a great opportunity that can help build your confidence. I will be proud to represent my country and the top of this will be a won medal. ”
Mr. Hensby, 17, is working at Fenland to grow salads and vegetables G's Fresh, he said: “I look forward to new knowledge and participation. The college gave me great support. I would like to win a medal for them, me, my employers and my family. ”
College farm teacher Charlie Askew said: “This will be the third year in a row when we take part in this competition. Last year, we received an award for fair play for being the most honored participants. We hope that this time we will do better to go out and climb the podium with a gold medal.
“I would like to thank all the employers representing the farms of East Anglia and supporting us in preparing for Agrolympics, and I am very proud of all our students who are members of Team GB, they are the best of our best young students and I am sure that we will be proud of them, ”said Charlie Askew.
