Talkers are a numerous genus of hat mushrooms, which consists of both poisonous and edible species. This is one of the most common family in the Russian forests. Edible species have quite good taste. They grow mainly in deciduous forests. Their hats are mainly consumed.
Edibility Reddish Talker
Clitocybe dealbata - refers to the category of deadly poisonous mushrooms. This is due to the content of muscarin in them, which makes the govorushchik of this species more poisonous than fly agaric. In a person who has eaten such a mushroom, signs of poisoning will appear within 20 minutes.
This is a decrease in heart rate, increased salivation and lacrimation of the glands, respiratory failure, diarrhea and vomiting. It should be noted that fatalities are rare, but they do occur. There is an antidote that can neutralize poisoning with talkers. It is a plant alkaloid atropine (M-anticholinergic).
Important! Ewithwhether mushrooms were collected in ecologically unfavorable places: by the highway, along the railway lines, in ecologically dangerous areas, thenEven edible can lead to intoxication of the body.
The biological description of the fungus
The talker is reddish (red) or furrowed belongs to the family of ordinary. Earlier in the literature, it was distinguished as Clitocybe rivulosa, since it has a shorter leg and hat of a pink hue compared to Clitocybe dealbata (whitish whitened, bleached or bleached).
But later it turned out that due to the ability of the caps of these mushrooms to absorb moisture from the air, a talker of this species acquires one color or another. Molecular studies have proven that they are essentially the same polymorphic fungus.
Clitocybe dealbata - a whitish / red talker (bleached or bleached) has:
- hat with turned edges - convex at the beginning of the growing season and flat with a funnel inside closer to ripening. The diameter reaches sizes from 20 to 45 mm. Its color can vary from the initial grayish-white to cream and tan in mature form, and also have a pinkish tint. The skin is silky shiny 3-4 mm thick, and increased humidity makes it mucous;
- plates, smoothly turning into a leg, are often located, initially white, and when ripening, gradually change it to cream and yellow-brown hues;
- leg also white, reaching a length of from 20 to 40 mm, a diameter of up to 6 mm, has a cylindrical shape. At the base, it is narrowed, grayish tint, when ripe becomes hollow. In some places, the leg can become covered with walnut stains, places of pressure darken;
- tint spore powder whitish;
- flesh has an elastic white consistency. When broken, its color does not change and gives off the smell of freshly sawn wood or freshly ground flour.
Did you know? Mushrooms are older than dinosaurs. More than 300 million years ago, in the territory that now belongs to Saudi Arabia, specimens grew up to 10 m.
Where and when the whitish talker grows
The habitats of Clitocybe dealbata and Clitocybe rivulosa are natural conditions: in meadows and pastures, forest edges or clearings of both deciduous and mixed forests of the temperate zone. He loves moist soil, moss and fallen leaves. Fruiting dates - July - November.
In Russia, govorushka is common in its European part, Crimea, and also grows in Western and Eastern Siberia. Their fruiting bodies form closed rings, popularly referred to as “witch circles”.
What can be confused
The risk of mushroom picking is that reddish govorushka can be confused with such edible mushrooms as honey agarics and hangers, red govorushki, mushrooms. They can wedge into groups of edibles, disguising themselves as them.
How to distinguish from other mushrooms
Among the edible mushroom group, poisonous reddish and whitish talkers stand out with a paler color. They also have a sweetish-pleasant smell, which significantly distinguishes them from useful ones: it is more almond in the meadow honey agaric, and more powdery in the scavenger.
The red talker can be distinguished by the flesh-colored color of the fruit body, the more fleshy thick leg and tubercle in the center of the hat. Ginger has a good mushroom aroma and a significantly brighter color.
Given these features of talkers, we can conclude that it is not very experienced mushroom pickers better to bypass the clearing, where strange mushrooms grow by the side, so as not to risk their health, and sometimes life.
