On Monday, October 14, as part of the National Farm Month celebration at the school, growers Nelson and Pade donated over a hundred fresh lettuce to Westfield, Montello, and Princeton public schools.
The salad is certified naturally grown and cultivated at Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems at the Nelson and Pad Greenhouse in Montello, Wisconsin.
For four consecutive years now, when Nelson and Pade celebrate National Farm Month at school, they share their salad with 10 public schools located in Westfield, Montello, and Princeton school districts.
Pupils, teachers and administration expressed their sincere pleasure in receiving this salad, which will be included in the school lunch program. The salad grown by these farmers is produced all year round and is available at their farmer's stand, as well as at local grocery stores, restaurants and hospitals.
Lettuce is grown in the large Aquaponics Clear Flow commercial system in Montello, Wisconsin.
Nelson and Pade help people get started and succeed in producing aquaponic products, as well as providing training, proven systems and long-term support for producers.
To date, people from 109 countries and all 50 US states have traveled to Montello to attend a 3-day Nelson and Pad aquaponics workshop.
