Ukrainian poultry farms have every opportunity for the effective implementation of biogas technologies.
Volumes of waste generated by Ukrainian poultry farms allow for coordinated operation of biogas plants with capacities from 1 MW to more than 5-7 MW, said Olga Sidorchuk, Director General of AgroBiogaz.
In her opinion, biogas plant projects have an investment attractiveness for poultry farms starting with a capacity of 1 MW or more.
In order to calculate when the equipment will pay for itself, it is necessary to take into account the sale of electricity received from biogas into the network at the “green” tariff, Olga Sidorchuk noted.
In that case, when the farm constantly consumes thermal energy, which is a characteristic feature of poultry farms, also implements biofertilizers after a biogas plant, this further reduces the payback period.
All calculations for the planned capacity of a biogas plant must be trusted by specialists, she noted. For this, employees need to provide data on the volume of organic waste of the factory and its types, as well as alternative available raw materials, which the company can rely on in the future.
According to Olga Sidorchuk, it is recommended to utilize litter together with other organic waste of both plant and animal origin. It is the combination of organic raw materials that allows you to maximize the energy potential of the litter, she summed up.
