Over the past year, purchasers of the Russian Federation purchased at least 13 thousand tons of strawberries from Turkish suppliers.
It is noteworthy that in 2018 Russian importers spent about $ 16 million on the purchase of garden strawberries grown in the Turkish expanses, which helped increase the volume of exports of this crop in Turkey by 95%.
Note that in 2018, Turkey shipped a little more than 20 thousand tons of garden berries to the foreign market. As for 2017, then Turkish exporters sent to the world market as many fresh berries as they shipped for Russia alone over the past year - 13 thousand tons.Russian buyers are one of the most beloved in Turkey, based on the volumes of products that the Russian Federation purchases. The Turks are also highly valued by importers of Iraq and Romania, who annually spend an average of $ 1.4 million and $ 5.14 million on garden strawberries from Turkey, respectively.
Turkey plans to strengthen trade relations with both the berry-loving Russian Federation and the countries of Europe and Asia, and increase the export of garden strawberries to $ 30 million annually. The figure is quite real, as last year Turkish gardeners managed to sell strawberries alone for $ 24 million.
