The past year has become relatively fertile for Russia with regard to wheat - the farmers managed to collect about 71 million tons of wheat from the fields. It would seem that the figure is not small, but it is 15 million less than the previous year.

Despite this, representatives of North Korea turned to Russian farmers for help. They asked on free terms to provide their country with at least 50 thousand tons of wheat in order to at least slightly reduce the level of grain deficit in the DPRK.

It should be noted that the damage to Korean wheat fields in 2018 was caused by massive natural disasters that attacked the country.

It is noteworthy that Konstantin Kosachev, the leader of the Federation Council commission on international relations, admitted that today the request of the Koreans is being considered by the competent departments of the Russian Federation. He also emphasized that the most correct decision would be made on this issue.
